Every student is a star in the making!

Theatre School & Private Music lessons

For students interested in the even more performing arts and music we offer Saturday morning drama classes and private music lessons.

Theatre school

We offer weekly Saturday morning performing arts classes for children aged 4–7, 8–11, and 12–15. These classes cover singing, dancing, and acting across a range of performance styles. Alongside developing artistic skills, we focus on:

  • Promoting inclusivity and a love for the performing arts
  • Building confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment
  • Encouraging empathy, sensitivity, and teamwork

All classes are conducted in English, and we warmly welcome children new to the language, as ELABasel Theatre School offers an excellent setting to develop spoken English skills.

As Theatre School continues to grow, we look forward to feedback from students and parents and remain open to ideas to help the school grow with the community’s needs.

Meet the teacher

My name is Tina Corrigan, and I am a class teacher at ELABasel. I am a fully qualified teacher from the UK, with 20 years of experience teaching children across primary and middle school levels in a wide range of educational settings, both in the UK and internationally.

In addition to my classroom teaching, I have had the privilege of organising and directing annual whole-school theatre productions at several schools, including ELABasel.
My passion for the performing arts began at a young age through extracurricular dance, music, and drama classes. Over the years, I attended numerous dance and theatre schools, but one group that left a lasting impression on me was a local youth club with a focus on performing arts; what set this group apart was its inclusive approach. Everyone was welcome, regardless of natural talent, confidence or previous experience — enthusiasm and teamwork were the only requirements.
Since becoming a teacher, it has been my dream to establish a theatre school with the same inclusive ethos. I am excited to bring this vision to life with the launch of ELABasel Theatre School.

The school will offer weekly Saturday morning performing arts classes for children aged 4-7 years, 8-11 years and 12-15 years. These classes will cover a broad spectrum of performance genres, incorporating singing, dancing, and acting. While building skills in the performing arts, we will also focus on:

  • Promoting inclusivity and fostering a love for the performing arts.
  • Developing confidence and self-esteem in a safe, supportive environment.
  • Cultivating empathy, sensitivity, and teamwork.
All classes will be conducted in English, but we warmly welcome children who are new to the language, believing that ELABasel Theatre School provides a fantastic environment to nurture spoken English skills. As this is an exciting new venture, I look forward to receiving feedback from both students and parents. I am committed to remaining flexible and open to ideas, ensuring that the school evolves to meet the needs and interests of the community.
